ACADEMIC INTEGRITY POLICY

Academic Integrity Policy

Professor with Students

Royalty International University of Theological Education is committed to providing a rigorous and high-quality education that emphasizes academic excellence and integrity. Our Academic Integrity Policy sets out clear standards for conducting research, writing papers, and completing assignments in an honest and ethical way. We expect all students to adhere to the highest standards of academic integrity in their work, including avoiding plagiarism, properly citing sources, and upholding the principles of honesty, fairness, and responsibility. Our policy outlines the consequences of academic misconduct, including failing grades, academic probation, suspension, and expulsion. We provide resources and support to help students understand and practice academic integrity, including workshops on citation and referencing, access to academic writing tutors, and online tools for detecting plagiarism. Our goal is to ensure that every student graduates with the knowledge, skills, and ethical values needed to succeed in their career and contribute to society.

Students are expected to: - prepare work that is honest, thoughtful, and genuine - be truthful about which ideas are their own, and which are derived from others (including methods and results of their research) - not try to gain an advantage by unfair means: for instance - by passing off others’ work as their own - take active roles in their own learning: for instance - by seeking out the information they need to study effectively - be respectful toward their fellow students, their professors/lecturers, and the work of other scholars - take a stand to address wrongdoings, and defend integrity

In keeping with our intolerance of academic dishonesty, any act that goes against our standards will result in consequences such as automatic failing grades, suspension, expulsion, and, if need be - law enforcement intervention.
